i would be scared not to notch it. It will ride better and you will be happier if you notch it. Nothing to be afraid of. Its a truck dying for you to cut it... The only thing you should be afraid of is the addiction. I used to smoke crack but welding and cutting your truck is by far more addictive!

LMAO.....

As for being scared, if you cant weld that good, i'd be more worried about welding/setting up the four link than the notch. get in touch with a good shop or buy a welder and learn to weld.

If you're scared to weld the notch in then I wouldn't attempt to do the 4-link. A notch is a helluva lot easier than doing the 4-link. Just get a step-notch. it comes in 4 pieces. Just weld on the sides, then the top, then cut out the frame and weld on the bottom, it's actually pretty simple. Just makes sure you're welder will make a weld strong enough to do it. Don't use a welder meant to do body work because it won't penetrate the metal deep enough and your welds will be weak. As far as the 4-link you found, I'm not familiar with it but for that price it's probably not a cantilever set up. and if you mount your bags directly on the rear end you're not gonna get as much lift and it will ride like ass. The reverse cantilever set up is probably the easiest one you're gonna find and it will give you a shit load of lift. As for your bags, it's pretty much just what you prefer. I'm running slam specialties, they're good stuff, I can lift my truck all the way in the back only using like 50psi.

that 4 link is 800 dollars. thats crazy. i weld for a career so im set in that department. lol. But whats wrong with the 4link i found it looks fine.

Nothing wrong with that. just cant put you bags on the bars w/ that, which is no prob if thats not what you want. if you weld for a living, you should not fear a notch. very simple to install. amateurs do it all the time, not that thats a good thing or a bad thing, but if you're a welder, you should be able to grasp the concept of welding in a notch pretty quickly. you may want to set up the link first, then mark center on the axle/frame, then weld in side plates, then top plate, then cut out the frame and weld in the bottom.

Make sure and check out what you can get away with on your state inspection. My buddy is from New Hampshire and he said the inspections there are crazy as hell.

No, you're looking at the tacoma bolt on, it's $800. The weld in is $500. But I'm sure nothing is wrong with the one that you found, it's just gonna require you to do alot more stuff that you wouldn't have to do if you used the cando 4-link. just trying to save you some head aches. But like I said, I would use the CanDo front brackets so you won't have to cut them to make them fit because they're for our trucks. Just trying to save you a headache thats all.

that link from suicide doors is a good setup it's missing 4 brackets though i found that out after i opened it up. so if you plan to do a tri-link you will need to order the extra 4 brackets, just an f.y.i
