My friend went to DB Drags a couple of years ago and got the scoop and some video of the sub. If i remember correctly, it runs off of 2 electric motors and only hits one note. One motor pushes and one pulls. I think it plays around 10hz or something like that. It is in something like a 5 ton cube van and the back is the box and it fires into the cab. I think they even had an air conditioner in it to keep the motors cool. I guess when they had it there, they were only running the motors around 25% because they had no idea what it would do. I think they put a mic in it but don't remember the outcome. I can try and find the video if anyone is interested.

it was powered by crown amps and you can see them in the pic i posted, they are rackmounted on the side. they are the same speaker with different decals. it was sponsored by mtx so thats why their decals were on it.

MAn....i havent seen that in a while...If i remeber the story correctly, the two guys that built this was in compition in the mid to late 90s against Alma gates. Back then it was a piston driven sub...And they were also banned from competeing because it was a piston driven sub...all the wiring looked like it was powered by amps, but were not. And i think the motor blew in the middle of a run and that was how they were caught cheating....not sure but i had a buddy that worked for those two back in the day....
