oldsklmini is suppose to be getting a couple of parts trucks and the guy selling the 22re-t engine is suppose to be getting one also. but since you have the chance why not get the start button for the truck.

My only worry about having a start button, is the fact that someone could walk up to my truck and take it without a key at all. Since I won't have door handles, and I will have an emergency failure switch to open the door. If anyone found that, my trucks gone. But, I guess I could just hide the failur switch real well and never tell anyone where it is. And, like my buddy did, I can put a toggle switch and relay between the button and the power, and hide that. Most people couldn't figure it out on his truck...

Do you know where to get those buttons? And about how much they cost?

I looked around. It looks like a lot require you to turn the key, then push the button. So, either way I still need the ignition module...

I got a 1985 yota but I think the colums are very similar. I'm in Germany right now so I don't have my yota to go out and look at to guide you through it step by step. I know for sure that you do not need a new key, because the ignition switch is a plastic piece that sits behind the key hole that you can seperate by taking out a few screws.

Kragens said they could get the whole thing with two new keys for $25. My friend is bringing over a tester now to try to pinpoint the problem. If it's in the starter I'll just buy a new one and have more keys than I do now.

Well fuck, it runs... I don't know how or why. My buddy brought over a tester, and we started touching it to things, and it would not light up on anything at all. Then we started dicking with wires, moving stuff around, making sure connectons were right and all that business. Then turn the key again, and the dash lights start coming on. The lights would make the whole system shut down. And slowly, stuff started working, like running lights and all that. Then it started to turn over. I'm stumped, and so is he. It just, slowly came to life.

And now, somethings occured to me. This thing was given a name, the week I got it. My mom called it Frank, short for Frankenstein. It kind of stuck, since I had parts from tow trucks at the time, and planned for more. Now I've got parts from, 4 trucks, and still plan on at least 1-2 more. So, I even designed a sticker or logo for it...

This just gives it a little more meaning, personally. They way it slowly krept to life... Lol... Maybe I'm just tired, and ranting...

I figured a good spot to put my emergency switch. Going to put it under the hood. And put the hood latch in the fender. No one will think to look there. Well, except maybe you guys now, but I trust none of ya' would try to steal my truck...

I still need to work otu some wiring issues. There was a loose connection somewhere, and the headlights would turn on when they wanted to. When putting on the new radiator hoses, I touched a wire and it broke off its contact point. It comes out of the wire loom, and is grounded to the block. I'm hoping when I put a new end on the wire that that was the headlight problem. I need that to work consistantly... Lol.

Also have ot tune it, seems like its running too rich. Should probably try starting it with the choke on though... lol. I don't care for this electric choke, does anyone make a manual choke kit for Toyotas?
