Check the connection on your battery. I had a similar problem. My hot battery cable was one of those cheap clamp on ones, and the accessory attatchments weren't attatched very well. If you jiggled that cable it would start. So I bought a new one for like $8, with the stock cable outlets and the stock length. Haven't put it on yet, but I'm pretty sure thats why I'm having issues.

i would go with what twisted said but i also would check the CCA on the battery and the charge of it

You can get new contacts for the starter from Toyota, about $4 ea. Or replace it with one from Toyota. Don't use any other as it will go bad quick. Remove the cover on yours & check the contacts!
I replace mine twice before going to Toyota!!

yea but 9 times outta 10 its the battery connection that gives us problems. im pretty much on everything original except oil, radiator fluid, water pump, brake fluid, and air filter

I actually bought a stock refurbished one. I also have a refurbished 22R starter if anyone needs one. At least, thats what they said it was. Could be wrong, they said it would fit my motor... Got a refund.

well im that 1 in 10 that doeasnt have trouble with the battery its 2 months old and its got a good charge the clamps on my cables are also new and they anre tight the hot is gold plated so i woulnt think about it not having a good connnection so i guess its either my starter or a connection to my starter cause this mornin i was tryin to jump it from my moms car and it was still really slow and then i messed with the wires going to it and it started but after school i couldnt get it to start messed with the wires and nothing so im not sure

If the battery is at 12.5 volts, & you have good cables( all stock),you should be good to go. I have a relocated battery( yellow top) & all the cables are 0 ga.
Must have 12.5 volts at the battery!!
