Yeah, I would think that finding a GN or a T-Type engine would be a task. Why doesn't anybody build a 22r and just put a turbo on it? I mean, most any junkyard engine you get is gonna need a rebuild, so why not put good dished pistons and good rods in a 22r and build you own turbo kit. From what I understand, there are plenty of good j/y turbos ready to be pulled and put back in service.

i actually think you could do this cheaper. if not close to the same price.

yea and no, finding a 22re would be better IMO b/c of the fact that bolting on a turbo kit on a fuel injected would be easier, due to the fact that you pretty much know the routing of the pipes...but...i duno..alot ideas floating, but i swear to god if i find a grand national or GNX engine im doing the swap

Rubber ducky I dunno man GNX are hard to come by I know I searched for 5 years to find a workable 22rte but man GNX whew!......I dont think there was about 3 years those were built and the number is under 10,000.Im kinda thinking with what wads said and go with the 22re and add the turbo many companies out there have the bolt on kit to the 22r and really aint that much.
Damn it all the hell and go supercharged....

yea the GN motors are hard to find, plus if you do get your hands on one and put it in your yota, you'd have GN purists all over your ass hahaha

other than that, it would be a badass swap man

goodluck finding one, you could prolly build you a nice HO V8 for the price someone will want for a good GN motor, or a donor GN itself

lol i think i found one i need to give the guy a call i think its wrecked .

but on the subject of many companies selling turbo kits for the 22re...which companies, the only company i know that sells the bolt on kit is LC engineeering...plz enlighten me

Oldsklmini How much would you take for the 22 rt you have, and does it need to be rebuilt?
oldsklminitrk   +1y
I dont think it needs rebuliding its been put up after it was removed for a broken head bolt.....Id say 350 for it
phatboislim   +1y
yo man i did ask about it...SHIT lol. so the head just needs to be machined for a new bolt, thats it??
