I've inquired about this b4. I called a chromer, acid dipper and sandblaster and they all said it would cost more to de-chrome than it wood to chrome a virgin part or buy a new part depending on which way you went. best thing i found was to use those DeWalt flap wheels on an angle grinder and get all the loose stuff off and the rest roughed up - prime and paint and your in!! Trick is to get all the loose chrome off and everything smooth and flat.
