Id say go Jasper or another company I paid 2500 for mine and got everything I wanted...I have priced stock ones for about 1500 with 3 years unlimited miles.

Check out Engnbuilder for rebuild kits and performance parts. They're pimp.

COOL THANKS GUYS, A FEW OF THE REBUILD KITS I WAS LOOKING AT LAST NIGHT CAME WITH NEW FREEZE PLUGS AND THRUST WASHERS. IM GONNA CALL TOYOTA RIGHT NOW AND SEE HOW MUCH FOR STOCK PARTS...BUT THEN AGAIN I DONT KNOW IF THIS MOTOR HAS BEEN BORED AT ALL. (IT WAS A REBUILT SWAP) SO IM NOT SURE WHAT ON THE INSIDE OR WHAT MACHINE WORK HAS BEEN DONE TO REHAB IT. WELL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

I got my kit from the afore mentioned engnbuilder on ebay, it rocked! thats what i used, also got a new timing cover and main bearings along with pistons and rods from him..... I replaced everything, got the block bored .020 over . It cost 300.00 to get the block and head machined, new pistons, rods , mains and freezeplugs installed...total cost to me was about 1300.00, but its done right, i did it myself, and i got to select out parts for high temp enamel paint and powdercoating during the build up so the engine was PURTY when it was done.

Machine work is expensive. Lowest quote I've found here so far is $1500 to bore the block and turn the crank, then put the crank rods and pistons in.

damn that sucks seth, i called a guy today and he was like well it depends on what all needs to be done. if i need to get the crank machined and everything else it would only be like 3 to 4 hundred bucks....and he can get me the rebuild kit to match. its from car quest, he said its the best rebuild kit they sell so i feel confident with it. ill do a lil more research. total cost im thinking will be around a G.

Dude I so wish I could rebuild for a grand. I'd tear the motor down next week and send it off. So far I'm looking at $1500 plus a $400 rebuild kit and nickel and dime stuff I'd probably be well over 2 grand. I got to call around more. I've talked to 3 shops so far. One wanted $2400 to do the machine work. God damn CA rates suck..

hell yeah, im trying to get mine fixed so when school ends i can move back to cali...i dont think the motor i got now will hold up to that drive again. cant you look into getting a motor from like auto-zone or someplace like that? i found one out here at advanced auto parts for 1600. but they wanted my old motor. just get one of those and tear it down n put your cam n stuff in it.

I could possibly get one from the place I work at. Maybe I'll ask tomorrow on my lunch break.

i think the 1600 was for the one with the extended warranty, i think the one with all the same stuff just not as good of warranty was 1400. that was also for the 22R. it might be less for a 20R
