all my problems started with a dirt radiator, that was causing my truck to overheat cuz the hoses kept closing up.so one time it over heated and thats wat messed up the gasket, but i aint kno that,so i changed the radiator and i saw that it was over heating,i was at a light n thats wen hell started, lol,i got home the next day i checked the oil and it was mixed with coolant,i checked the gasket, there were big ass holes everywhere, but now its gud as hell no problems yet, knock on wood

yeah i'm hoping all goes well. I know longer have my fender wells and my battery is relocated to the bed, so there is a little more room to work around. Plus it will give me a chance to clean up the engine bay.

so i've not been able to work on it steady, but anyone have any suggestions as to not throwing it out of time while doing this. I really didn't want to have to take the crank pulley off, but is that a have to? i'm not replacing the timing chain just the head gasket

Just dont let the chain fall into the cover and you will be fine, put a block of wood inbetween the chain and the cover so it wont fall down and keeps a little tension on the chain, before you take it apart set it to TDC and mark your cam and you should be fine,Taking the crank off wont be a big deal it is a keyed HB and it will wiggle off

got everything off, except crank pully, timing cover, and the head, thanks for the tip
