Ok I finally got the not starting thing figured out and it runs again. However it just won't idle all that great and it either idles way to high or way to low and wants to shut itself off. I have changed the plugs and wires, fuel regulator and filter, new mass air and cleaned the throttle body w/ cleaner and adjusted the throttle cable and tried to adjust the throttle screw, but it seems to have a mind of it's own... The truck does seem to idle somewhat better after you sit there with your foot on the gas for a good few minutes I guess until it warms up. Also not sure it this is related at all, but when you do try and drive it, it drives fine until you try and give it some gas for example pulling out into traffic... it wants to bogg down really bad and you have to ease into the gas very slowly like its starving for fuel or not getting enough, but it hasn't always done this so I cant seem to figure out what has gone wrong. Any suggestions on this would help a lot.

usually this sounds like fuel filter...but u said u changed it..almost sounds like ignition/spark issues. are all of ur plug wires on tight??

Check for vaccuum leaks.

IT SOUNDS LIKE A VACCUM PROBLEM OR LIKE ITS AIR/FUEL MIXTURE IS OFF. I KNOW ITS NOT THE SAME BUT I USED TO HAVE A LT-250 THAT WHEN THE AIR/FUEL WOULD MOVE ITSELF FROM THE VIBRATION IT WOULD SOMETIMES RUN LIKE THAT.

TPS (throttle position sensor) maybe? they can cause some strange symptoms when bad.

The ignition is all good because that was the original problem w/ the truck not starting so I changed the ignitor, coil, plugs and wires. I will check the vac lines and I thought about the tps sensor so I will check that out to. Would the coolent temp sensor maybe cause this from always running in cold mode?

does your temp gauge work right? if it comes up to running temp then probably not. but if it stays down at cold and doesnt move, posibly....the motor might be keeping the choke open.

not necessarily, the reason i changed my stat initially was b/c i wasnt getting any warm/hot air and my temp guage stayed down in the cold. once i changed it, it moved to middle..and a lil above

yeah thats what im saying, if the motor doesnt get up to running temp and stays at cold all the time, the motor is thinking its cold and it needs to be choked until it warms up...but if it never warms up then the choke stays on..

way back when i first started driving my truck, the new thermostate we put in it was stuck open and i didnt know any difference because it was new, but my 22r ran down at cold for about a year until a mean winter hit and i couldnt get the heater to work (my motor wouldnt warm up enough for the heater core to work) but it ran fine, and kicked down after it had been running for a lil while.
