well as far as the guage working I'm not quite sure... The truck has a Honda S2000 dash in it and I am still working w/ the placing the guages as far as having them work correctly. I have a heat gun to check the temp on the motor, but I really can't tell about the initial start up. Where is this sensor located on the motor exactly?

it should be near the thermostate somewhere. at least its near there with my 22r. it should be like two little plug connecter things.

If this is a EFI engine, it may be the air valve, mines bad & won't stay at idle until engine at 185 degrees. I 've been told these go bad offen!Dealer only item,so expensive! Will be changing mine soon!

It could be a coolant temp sensor There is 2 sensors for the coolant one for the dash and one for the ECU are you sure it is leaning out and not loading up? pull a plug and see what it looks like

So I'm messing around unplugging things last night to see if the truck would maybe run a little differently, you know something that would make any sense w/ the idle thing and it seemed like when the tps was unplugged the truck would idle fairly well and maintain that idle as well as it didn't seem to bogg down either, well that was just from me manually turning the throttle blade. I guess the truck runs in dummy mode w/ the tps unplugged???

Also as far as the 2 coolant temp sensors... I have checked the plugs and it does seem like it may be loading up. I'll change the plugs again, but would the whole tps thing have anything to do w/ the loading up problem??

replace your PCV valve and see if that helps
4.99 at advance or autozone

What color are your plugs? It could be a TPS sensor when you unplugg it the ecu puts in a good valve so you can make it to the dealership

Ohh the plugs were pretty black and nasty w/ lot's of fuel... All of them were like this, but I have changed them recently, well before my 1st initial post and now they aren't looking bad just really have a good bit of fuel on them. I will say though that the plugs look a lot better, now that I have almost changed everything, but still the fuel is there just not 1/2 as bad as before.

My Toy did the sluggish poor fuel milage, wouldn't get over 50 mph on a downhill run thing. After doing a lot of what you did I found out the cat was about 90% stopped up. I figured this out b/c the floor got hot under my feet, and it blew out the donuts on the exhaust manifold.
