i was told to raise my carrier bearing on my f/s chevy, but becareful if you rais it too much you might have to ajust the tranny height too so the front shaft will have the correct angle.

sounds like your pinion angle is off, are your bars adjustable? you may need to tweak them and shim the carrier bearing as well.

the problem is most likely gonna be with your carrier bearing, thats a small problem with 4links, throughout there range of travel you throw off your pinion angle, i just ordered a 4link through cando, steve from cando told me it will only throw my pinion angle off a degree or 2 at most.

oh yeah, you might wanna shim your carrier bearing, easy to do and might fix your problem.

did u buy a 4 link or build your bars??

its a 4 link from airride! I greased theuniversal joint by the carrier bearing and it seemed to help a little but still grinds with the front lifted and back lowered!
How do I shim the carrier bearing?

i just had both my u-joints go bad, then my carrier bearing blew up last weekend going to a show....they both vibrated similar. my u-joints were letting the driveshaft wabble around so it was spinning unbalanced.

The u-joints were more controlled with height, where the carrier bearing is just a constant vibration no matter where my ride height is. good luck

im having the same problems with my sonoma. ive heard about the u joints and the carrier bearing. are those easy to replace yourself with minimal tools. how long does it take and is there anything i need to know before i start. thanks in advance.

also--ive heard that U joints that u buy at auto zone are cheap replacements. are there better ones you can buy for longer life. if so, where can i get them and how much am i lookin at.

I recently posted a thread about this same prob. Vibrated like all hell! It turned out to be a missing nut on my steering linkage and a missing c-clip on my u-joint.
