I just want to know how power can you get out of a all motor 22r? What is the mileage on this motor? Besides LC engineering who else offers go fast parts for toytas?

Stock horsepower ran between 85-95hsp pending years. The 22ret (turbo) boosted around 115 stock. The 22r motors have been noted to reach 350 - 400 hsp with forced induction, ie. turbo, super charger. A lot of it depends on how deep your pockets are and how much ingenuity you have. Not many companies cater to the 22r these days aside from LC, Downey and a couple others. They are pricey but they have the market dominated at the moment.

The best thing to do to to raise horsepower is increase air, fuel and fire and decrease weight. Things to start off with is an aftermarket intake (Offenhauser, edebrock), Carb (webber, Holley), or use a side draft setup. Aftermarket header, port polish the head and intake, bump up cam profile. Aftermarket ignition, yadda, yadda I think you get my drift.

Look for places that specialize in the supra or celica, they often have go fast parts that really aren't geared toward trucks.

Yeah make shure ya got deep pockets I know Im into a few grand on my motor.....I have found a guy that got a 22rte that made 1250 horses....so it all depends on what ya wanna spend.

My goal is to gain performance in a toyota bagged and body dropped mini truck that can chirp the tires through the gears and still get great gas mileage on 87 octane. I was planning on running weber dual side draft carbs such as on the "LoAsian" cam, and whatever you guys else recomended me to do.

1250hp out of an 8v 2.4? I'm a little doubtful of that...now 16V, thats another story.

Hell if thats all your wanting to do is chirp the tires I'll sell you my old wore out 22r. LOL

Ok, I somewhat understand what your getting at. Your wanting a little more oomph than what you have now. Plus you want it in a lowered truck thats bagged. Thats fine and dandy, nothing wrong there. Just don't be one of these jackasses that wants to put a 900hp blown sbc in a truck that has been hacked from the cab to the frame and expect it to win races. It just doesn't happen that way. There are plenty of us here and there that would be more than happy to answer any question you have even if its a redundant one.

How much horsepower is your engine making? Also how much mpg do these motors get on average? Because gas is currently 2.85 over here in Maryland. I dont belive in putting a sbc in a yota. That is considered selling out. I can understand swapping a 2jz though.

wish it was 2.85 here... damn 3 bux for cheap shit here

damn, gas has been staying around 3.05 since like the first of the year. It suck ass wheen you have run premium.

lol, my truck would've had to be in the wimpy 85hp range. Still could do a burn out and nail each gear without a hitch.

Average fuel economy was around 20-25mpg pending on how it was driven.

My goal is to make around 250 hp without forced induction. Is that possible?
