its possible, but remember...to get that much horsepower off of the engine alone, your talking bigger cylinders, ported and polished intake, bigger cam, more fuel, ignition setup, electric fan, header, full exhaust, etc.....if your concerned with getting the best fuel economy, just utilize parts that make the existing engine run more efficient. like the electric fan, mild cam, exhaust and ignition. im currently getting around 25 mpg in my yota but i do alot of freeway driving with it for the most part. and i also have a 4 speed in it right now so that kinda kills the economy a little bit. but its pretty peppy

I wanted to upgrade the cam, etc to get at least 150.

with my truck i upgraded the cam, bored it .06 over, header, full exhaust...and its pretty peppy. i plan on doing the ignition and electric fan and building a different breather to fit a k&n for cheap horse power but other than that, thats as far as im gonna go with it. i dont think you'll be dissapointed. i think with all that you could run a honda with it no problem.

but to answer your question, you can get 150 out of it fairly easy. you'll have a pretty penny into it though. cause if you upgrade the cam and all that i would recommend going through the whole motor.

you could also run nitrous for cheap horse power if you want. as long as the motor is built right with all the clearnces are virtually zero, it will be fine.

Do you think it is better to get a crate motor from Lc engineering.

if you wanna pay the price. i had thought about it myself, but i was a lil worried about it because although they are known for their toyota knowledge and engineering, their motors dont come with any warranty and there is no telling how close the clearances are or anything. although im sure it would be fine, but its a lot of money for a long block and no warranty. i opted to have a engine builder who builts race engines for circle track cars rebuild my motor. it worked out a better that way because i was close by and have since become friends with him, i felt comfortable that the engine would be built right. he said that the engine i have would hold up to 100 shot of nitrous no problem. a stock engine wouldnt last very long with it. i currently have about 2500 into my motor 1600 of that went to the engine guy. the rest went into header, etc.

I can recommend LC's crate engine, have one of their Pro Street EFI's. If you go this way ,get all you can that they recommend. Lots of power & still decent mileage, although you will have to run a high grade of gas!

I just want to build a bagged and bodydropped 84-88 extra cab yota. That has a 22r that I can mess around with Hondas just for shi#s and giggles. You know what I mean

i got a 93 efi. im in the works of adding the rv2 cam from 22re.com along with a xspower 50trim turbo intercooled and nitrous. i bought just a spray bar for the intercooler.
