legal.

but shipping a cab would cost buku $$. And you have to buy a whole container for shipping even if you only need a cab sized portion. And the they only ship FOB (free on board) from AU so if something happens to it in transit, you are SOL. And customs will hold for inspection for 60-90-120 days once it gets here. And shipping is only good to the port, then you have to go pick it up yourself.

Believe me, I have looked into this.

well i want to get it shipped from hondurus. and i know someone that imports cars there all the time. he knows alot of people that import and export stuff so i am pretty sure he can find me a space in a container of something coming over here. i was just wondering about what they would say if they did inspect it and seen it in there. and what about a mexican/american that owns a quad cab truck decided to drive it over here. would he be allowed?

hey rizz, what shipping company are you familiar with in honduras? my dads from there and my family is involved with a lot of merchant shipping. just curious.

Importing from Honduras is the same as importing from AU, or DE, or really anywhere. Customs requires that all cars imported for parts must be broken down to prevent reassembly. Sending just a cab would qualify as parts. If you tried to send a whole TRUCK though, you would have to cut it up, either the frame or the firewall, to prevent reassembly. What I am saying is, if you want to "sneak" one in complete, you will get busted. Customs isnt stupid, and there have been thousands of cars/trucks either sent back to where they came from or crushed on the spot for non compliance with regs. If your friend is really an RI (registered importer) he will tell you about the penaties and fines and loss of money associated with trying to circumvent the system.

From Mexico, you have to have a Mexican citizenship and the truck must be tagged as a Mexican vehicle always. I'm not sure, I dont think the crew cab mazda was ever sold in Mexico, but I know toyotas and Nissans etc were.

If you have space in a container, and are going to get a cab, please contact me, I want a 97 Mazda Bravo bumper and it will easily fit inside your cab. I'm sure you can even find other guys who will chip in and help defray shipping costs with you by sending small parts along with your cab.
