wrx same price as evo?? maybe a used one. you can get a wrx for about $24K, an evo for about $28, and an STI around $30K+. I'd rather have the STI myself, previously having a turbo DSM. My friend has a WRX and the only thing I can say bad about them is the tranny. I've heard several people saying that it goes out fairly quick even on new ones. The dealership replaced my friend's and it had 50K miles on it. Oh well, still rather have the STI over the EVO. No question the STI over the WRX.

you are going to be spending some cash at the pump with any of these choices, so forget about that. but if you are looking for something your wife will like to drive around town, she'd probably like the wrx better. the sti and evo are set up for the track and might now be comfortable to someone not in the import scene.

That's true about the WRX tranny but the EVO clutches are junk and have been known to go out with in 14K miles and that is not a cheap fix.

Either one would be sick, I personally like the EVO more but that is just personal preference.

srt-4's are nice, but slow when there stock..you have to do alot and know what your doing to make them fast..its not just adding an upgrade to the turbo and calling it a day..also you have to know how to drive well..my buddy has one running 10's and he knows everything about these cars..out of your list i would just get the sti and call it a day..it would be cool to fix up the wrx but what is someone messes something up..makes it even slower?or even if you do make it quick..probably still not going to be much compared to the sti..i would just start at that..cause fixing it up..u need alot of money up front..i wouldnt have that type of money to just throw into my engine..

evos get a bad rep because a lot of people don't know how to properly mod them. yes the clutch is by far the weak link in the chain but can be fixed easily enough. much more responsive to mods when done by someone who knows their stuff. call up vishnu and have them upgrade it to whatever you want

i think the wrx is going to be plenty, plus the idea of just buying a badass car isn't what myself or any of you guys are all about anyways right?

Man if you want a awd drive vehicle For the wifey I'd check on a Ford 500;nice,luxurious,AWD, and fair cheap ,especially since theres the employee discount going on now a days,FAIRLY cheap on gas and they don't attract alot of attention.(perfect for the non racers, cop worriers)

I said it once I will say it again. I probably have more seat time in both then motor trend, lol. I was at the dealership when my buddy got his evo stock, and there when he hooked up the motor. At the same time my friend bought an sti, both are experienced drivers. sti beat up on the evo 3 out of 4 times (not by much but still beat it) then when both had comparable modifications the sti still beat the evo no questions asked.

Not to mention the STI or the WRX come better equipped and better overall quality.

So once again

STI is all you need to say " . "
