wrx- 24,000 give or take 230 horseEVO- 28,000 give or take 276 horseSTI- 32,000 --- --- ---- 300 horse

i'd say they are all in pretty close competition...she likes driving aggressively and will probably drag it with me so the comfort thing isn;t really an issue...i just wanted to hear peoples opinions on them whether they have driven/ owned them...teh way im looking at it is for the pice of an evo i can probably get a regular wrx to perform pretty close to an evo or an sti..but i may be better off just spending the extra money to begin with..

also as far as engines go is the subaru boxer 2.5 a good motor?..they have a whole shitload of 4 bangers 2.0 2.2 2.5...

just get a clean used wrx with low miles and use the rest of the money to make it faster than an evo or sti.

You could make a WRX alot faster by just doing some simple turbo upgrades. Or you could start with a faster car and get the STi.

the ej20 is much better than the ej25. If you go the subaru route, get a wrx and beef it up a bit. an sti is just a waste

dude i would also say srt-4. my bro has one with a few bolt-ons running 12.70's on michelins. my boy mark had an evo. he babied it until he had 3000 miles on it, took it to the track for the first time. doesnt even launch the car hard and breaks the diff. mitsu also has shitty customer service with warranty issues. as for the srt, you can get the different stages from dodge and also have them install it and tune the car. i think my bro said there's a stage 4 being released soon and that can take the hp up to around 450hp. and its still got a kickass warranty.

as for the sti im kinda partial. that car is a beast. i saw a black with bronze wheels(fav one) with a huge front mount, a blowoff valve from hell, running 11's effortlessly!!!

my dad works for dodge as a parts manager and i couldprobably get all those parts pretty cheap, but the main thing is the awd..

wrx same price as evo?? maybe a used one. you can get a wrx for about $24K, an evo for about $28, and an STI around $30K+. I'd rather have the STI myself, previously having a turbo DSM. My friend has a WRX and the only thing I can say bad about them is the tranny. I've heard several people saying that it goes out fairly quick even on new ones. The dealership replaced my friend's and it had 50K miles on it. Oh well, still rather have the STI over the EVO. No question the STI over the WRX.

you are going to be spending some cash at the pump with any of these choices, so forget about that. but if you are looking for something your wife will like to drive around town, she'd probably like the wrx better. the sti and evo are set up for the track and might now be comfortable to someone not in the import scene.

That's true about the WRX tranny but the EVO clutches are junk and have been known to go out with in 14K miles and that is not a cheap fix.

Either one would be sick, I personally like the EVO more but that is just personal preference.
