We just put a set on from Gauge magazine (Matt) and they are awesome, ride well, and seem to be good quality. Dont but aim whatever you do!!

why dont you just use air struts instead of the hassle of cylinders?

my opinion
cylinders were never made to do that. the cylinders on the market were designed to be mounted in a factory somewhere and slowly move a part from one place to another. every time you bottom and top them out it hurts the seals on the inside. then when they wear out, you wither have to replace the cylinder or rebuild it, which in some cases companies dont even have rebuild kits because the cylinders are cheaply made overseas products. or the rebuild kit is more than a new cylinder.

they ride like poo most of the time, some people will say no they wont but those people have never ridin in a ride that does ride good.

and airstrut, bolts right in with no brackets, rides great

disadvantages to struts, some people say they dont go as low as cylinders....but from what we have seen the struts hammer them just as low.

they are more expensive

they have a bag and can pop, but at least they have a manufacturer warranty from defects. all those people carrying cheap dna cylinders cant say that.

I've had the same set of Gauge cylinders on my car for almost four years now, and they've been to NOPI twice, Greenville once, and Tennessee and KY numerous times, all from Indy, all with NO PROBLEMS whatsoever. I can't recommend them enough.

I'm not really interested in Dog Legging... i'm more interested in being able to modify the Strut/Cylinder mount height.I was told that because the AirStruts are all fully machined as one bolt-on piece, it's pretty much impossible to mod them.Where as with Cylinders, all you need to do is add a few spacers in the mounting brackets and your done.My problem is, I can only lower my Integra 3.5" from stock before my body kit smacks the ground. If something happens (air leak) and the air systems looses it's pressure, an AirStrut that lowers you 5-6" understock will smash my shit into the ground.Thats why i'm thinking Cylinders, so at 0psi with the added spacers I will only go 3.5"... and at Full extension I will be riding much higher then stock (which is great for steep driveways).

gravity matt, I understand what your saying about using Cylinders on a Car/Truck, they were not designed for it. However the people that do have them, quality one's, have never had problems and love them to death...

Mike Mendenhall, can you confirm the roumers that Gauge sells the "Coor Cars" (CCE) Cylinders?

i have been helpin this guy out and we have went round and round about strut bags vs. cylinders and still both agree cylinders are better (as of right now) i would have to disagree in the fact that cylinders are damaged when bottomed or topped out i have had mine for four years (crappy aim ones) no problems i know a guy that has had the cool car ones since like 96 or 97 that 9 years and the first set of seals went out last year that pretty good
