Also, I know that you put the Teflon tape around threaded fittings, but are you all reffering to putting tape/silicone on the PTC/ Compression fittings... thus, wrapping the hose then pushing it into the fitting?

No, the tape would just slip.

i have actual airbrake hose and i use nothing but tape except for the loctite to the slams and i left it and drove it for 1 week and i had 1 small leak that only dropped 10 psi after the week

I use hydraulic line and fittings, no leaks at all. works great.

ive always used tape, no probs at all
