bro you in a shit hole, but i think i can try to help out!!!if your car has been complete stripped down(bare metal)spray a 2-part epoxy catalyzed primer, the epoxy is real flexible and have the best adhesion.you want a primer that has additives to pevent filler bleed through.before painting bare metal make sure its clean, use a product that is specified as a final wash or cleaning solvent,1 good product is called GON.you can also use thinners, like acetone.lacquer primers are proven to be porus they are proven to have terrible adhesion to bare substrate, lacquer primers and lacquer putties can not be used for a quality long lasting paint job.Flatten your putty rather than churning it,churning it mixes air bubbles into the mix.Don't forget the sealerwhat sealers do1.it prevents the penetration of the solvents into the primer2.it creates a bond between the properly sanded primer and the topcoat, that bond is critical.3.the most importantthing a sealer does is make the vehicle all 1 color.BTW *****DON'T USE BONDO***I REPEAT DON'T USE BONDO****USE EVERCOAT OR RAGE

all this was taken out of this book this is a real good book for beginers

My two pennies, save the money you're going to spend on primer, paint gun, sandpaper, etc etc etc and put it towards paying a pro to do it. FYI most primer is NOT waterproof AND almost any painter worth paying will be pissed that its covered in primer and thus you will have to pay more at that time for a quality job. Another negative is that primer does a GREAT job of hiding little dings and dents and thus they will not get fixed before final paint and thus the final paint will look like poo.

That said, I do love the primer look, but don't just do it to save money, you'll spend more long run by doing that. If you really want the primer look, look into flat paints or epoxy based primers.

Buy a book first, buy equipment, buy a door at a junk jard, put couple of dents in it(if not already) and then use your knowledge that you have learned in the book to good use.

^^^ even if you do all this, it sounds like you don't even have a garage to do this in... my vote is still save for a pro job, spray a little rattle can paint over your body work spots to keep them water tight and start saving!
