Im going to purchase a welder from autozone here in california because its only 70.00 bucks it says it can weld 1/4-1/2-3/4 steel i believe its a 70 amp of 150 amp im not sure but is it safe to use it for setting up bags and bodydrop?

its prolly a stick welder which are known for their quality in welding sheetmetal. i say do it if you dont value your life or the life of others around you.

dont do it!! i did the same thing 2 yrs ago and bought a cheapo welder from walmart and i bagged a s-10 and some of the welds didnt hold a week!

i wouldn't use a stick welder too much for frame work, sure they can make a nice weld, but it's alot more work than a wire welder

I bought a small 90 amp wire welder for $120 new at harbor freight, and I've bagged 3 trucks with it and had no problems at all. It is a flux welder so there's no need for a gas bottle

not bad for a $120 welder i think....1/2 of the work is preparation and be patient, don't rush yourself

Stick welders will work just fine for frame work if you know how to use them.
