I've never used them or anything, so I was just wondering what everyone thinks.. I've read a few discussions I think before on this subject.. but just wanted to learn more.. thanks guys.

kinda sucks to drive everyday because there isnt really any give in a heim so you really feel the road, and dirt can get into the heim and wear out the little bushing between the heim and insert, and get sloppy and noisy. on a race car a good quality heim is good because there is no give like there is in rubber or poly bushings, ive been readin up on nylon bushings, i hear these puppies can last 100,000 miles or more.......

I personally dont like them, but there are things to be said for them. In a 4 link with bushing ends, when pushed the limits (a hard side) the bushings bind and tear themselves up over time, with a heim it just moves through the motion with ease. On the other side over a period of time tearing up a bushing takes time, heims just fail. Ive had both is all types of different applications. If its going to be daily driven use bushings, if not heims.

i have hiems on mine an i got them from a place called korbana motorsports.they use them on dirt, street track cars.a friend of my mom owns the place so i get em cheap! an i love em...i hit sides alot an they are way better than the bushings i had!

Thanks for the info guys! Aren't there some kind of 'dust covers' that you put between the mounting tabs and the heim that could prevent some of the dust/dirt? Thought I might have seen them somewhere.. Keep the info coming!

If not a heim joint suicide has them superpivots which last hella longer and you can grease em and keep serviced for 3 times the life of a heim allthough they do cost alot more just a thought.

They work great on your triangulated bars/wishbone link..just like BDROPPEDDAK said they dont have any give..which is exactly what you dont want your triagulated bars to have since those are keeping your axle from moving side to side..maybe he prefers axle movement but i sure dont

Hey Ricky you can get heims w/grease fittings and this place sells the covers

unless you are runnin a racecar doin turns @ 90 mph you really dont have to sacrifice ride quality by usin heims.
