Ive got 2 viair 450's filling a 5 gallon tank. ive been running them for a year now with no problem at 145psi and ive got relays for both. I think they will last you a long time if you just run the correct pressure switch and have relays. Best compressor ive ever owned... As far as the viair 380.. I see them as junk... Theres really no need to have a system pushing anymore then 145psi... If you wanna hop then get hydros... 1/2" valves are nice and quick w/ 145psi.
what is a good pressure switch? ihad a "EAI" BUT i guess it is bad cause on my old compressor it just keep runnig once tell i toke it off . how would you test a pressure switch to see if it is bad?
i can get one of those for about 500 shipped. which if you think about it thats like buying 4 viair 450's plus shipping all for of those is well over 800 bucks. but the best way to test your pressure switch is to put a guage on an extra hole in your tank and just run it until it either cuts off or goes well past its cutoff point. i got my pressure switch from FBI it was a 175 shutoff, 145 on and it NEVER failed me. and believe me i played with my truck ALOT.
i run 1 450 on a 5 gallon w. a square d p/s set at 155 with a relay.
the only probs i have are someimes my relay sticks on. usually after rain. but ive had the truck bagged for almost 2 years and the comp has never let me down.
Air Zenith is a killer compressor. 100% duty cycle and puts out 200psi. $279.99 free shipping. Or you could get a Viair 380c 100% duty cycle and 200psi $174.99 free shipping
450's are cheap, my bro got his off of ebey for $155 with free shipping. he has the 450 and a dc5000 from AIM,AIM SUX, and the 2 fill his 12 gal. tank in like 7-9 minutes
