Just wondering, do the standard cabs and extended cabs have different tanks? If so which stick down more? I have a standard cab, stock tank, its about an inch off the ground layed out. Its been 6 years now with plenty draggin', the tank still looks ok. I was always looking into a fuel cell but never got around to doing it. I was also warned not to mess with the tank as the fuel preasure has to be right or the truck runs crappy. Pls post pics if u have a sectioned tank or a fuel cell in the stock tank location. Also what u did for the fuel pump and the sensor on the tank. Would be nice to eventually get the stock one outta there.

heliarched a tank the same depth as the factory tank, and used the factory sendin unit, works fine

Dave I had a new aluminum tank made. Just make sure you get all the factory componets switched over to the new tank and sealed well to ensure proper pressure. My truck seems to run alright (knock on wood). Here are some pictures:

As you can see, pump mounting has been raised the amount the tank has been shortened so it doesn't bind.

well, I think you had some pictures posted on your profile. I took one to the guy who made mine so he would have basically a pattern. I wanted to minimize the problems I would have with a new tank and I assumed yours worked well. I figured it would be okay to borrow your idea, I hope you don't mind!

Hey Andrew G. & BlackMagic, How did ya'll mount those black push-n-twist sensors into the aluminum tank? The stock tank had a recessed section with tabs cut out (kinda like a radiator cap) I don't think mine are in too good..... help.

The guy cut the mounting hole out of the old tank and welded it in the new one for one of the sensor things. For the others there's a piece of round tubing welded and I just connected the hose up to that. It's been working okay... so far.
