Has any one ever put a tachometer on a 86 pickup with a carbed 22r?
Can it be done? If so how? If you have please post some pics or wire diagrame or some thing.

When I had my 88 Toyota back in high school I had an aftermarket tach in it...dont quote me on this, but I want to say that you run the green wire to the positive side of the ignition coil, black for the ground & then its either white or red for power. You wont need all the wires cause they are for the V6 & V8 model cars/trucks. Let me know how many wires are coming out the back of the tach & what color they are too. Well figure it out.

Well i did some digging on the web and found a diagram of how to hook up the tach.
It has (4) wires red, black, white & green

red- batt. voltage terminal on fuse box
black - ground (of course)
white - splice into dimmer switch wire
green - neg. side of coil or if equiped tach terminal on distributor.

Now i have to figure out where to mount it with out it looking gay.

Shit just do the factory cluster in there with the tach or do the digital one that was in the 22rte...that way it looks stock

whoooo, thats looks very different. is that out of a diesel style mini?

With a redline of 5500 it definitely did not come out of a diesel truck. I would assume its from a 22rte truck.
