my truck lays and i didn't touch the firewall i just notched the frame for tie rods and got new a arms and had to move the wireharness. To move that i just took the plasma cutter and cut the box bigger where the harness goes through.

pull the fenderwells, cut the inner part of the fender, cut a big notch for the tierod, you'll have to notch the frame or the control arms if they are stock, dependin on what year the abs will be in the way. and the wiring harness where it comes through the firewall, i recessed mine, and you'll need to beat the firewall back alittle. then the coolant overflow and wiper fluid canisteres will be in the way, and the battery.

is this info the same for a suburban? 1992...tie rod notch etc...what kind of SMALLER brake booster? do u have to have custom A-ARMS?
bdroppeddak   +1y
dont worry about the booster unless your wheels are crazy wide.

brake booster... yall are crazy im b/d on 22's with 265-35s and aint come no where near it... only thing i had to move was the wires on the drivers side. other than that very minor touch of the hammer on the pass side fire wall. i have spindels and notched a tiny bit of the lower a-arm mount and i lay hard niggas. i would post pics BUTTTT ive asked a million times how to do it and still no one will tell me

*tub firewall or push it back some
*tie rod notch
*notch frame for lower control arm (it will hit the frame before you lay out)
*notch lower control arm mount (the lower control arm will hit it before you lay out)
*notch upper control arm mount or the uppers themselves (the upper control arm will hit before you lay out)
*modify or remove inner fenders
*relocate or remove coolant overflow tank (will possibly hit)
*relocate battery or battery mounts
*relocate or remove windshield washer fluid tank
*remove hood springs (will possibly hit)
*drop spindles (of course)

If I got lower tubular control arms would I not have to notch the frame for them?
nvrfnsh   +1y
there is a chance that you still might have to notch the frame a little
