hey everyone.Do any of you have any input, pictures, etc. toward mounting the bags on top of the upper control arms in a b2200?I am considering this and would like to hear your suggestions, concerns, etc.Thanks.

The upper control arm bushings and balljoints were not made to carry the weight of the front of the truck. Neither was the upper control arm mount really, the factory upper arm is merely a locator for the spindle.

Plus you would lose the mechanical advantage of using the longer lower arm, your bag would either be twisted weirdly at full lift or drop, or you would lose lift, or both.

Does this mean it cant be done? Of course not. There was a truck a while back that used that setup, looked super scary. I think it was posted in the mazda forum. If it were me I would rebuild the upper arm mounts and use a tube arm custom made to carry the weight, with a better balljoint.

there is a mazda in //ra that mounted his bags above his control arms and used a pushrod set up i believe. it was on te cover of mt a few months back. a buddy of mine did the same thing on a nissan about 5 years ago but it took him way too much psi to lift.

on a setup like the one kustom werx did, is the pushrod solid mounted to the LCA or does it have a bushing?

my friend had that on his 68 ford f-100 it was fine but you lose a lot of lift

Umm yes the lower control arm is the load bearing one. Also putting the load on the upper control arm will dramatically change how the suspension rolls due to the shift of roll center.
