No Its Cool But Yeah.. I learned Welding For My Senior Project In High School And Worked Under The Wing Of A Proffessional For Awhile. I Did All The Work On My Truck Plus Ive Done The Welding/ Frame Work On A Few Others. Welding Not A Problem Though!

use 188.wall thats what i used before you start hackin it up make sure to measure evreything and have a exact measurements of your frame before you built it.A friend of mine help me design mine on a cad program.check out my profile for my pics

I didn't do a full frame for the reasons stated above (steering and suspension geometry), instead i built a fixture so to speak that kept the original frame square, then cut the frame off directly behind the control arm mounts set the new frame in, to a few measurements and started to tie it all together. I used 2x3x3/16" worked great, should be strong enough for a mini. If your gonna do a full frame your probably gonna spend just as much to make a frame table than steel for your frame. Check out Wayne Messbarger's profile, sure did help me.

I hope I spelled that right

Hey Thanks For The Info Guys.. Finally Gettin Somewhere! I Actually think I'll Be cuttin it ridrectly behind the control arms as well. I'm A Mechanical Engineer @ The University of Portland, so I have access to Auto CADD and all its renderin programs. Im Gonna Draw it up on Auto CADD Before I Do Anything, thats how i do all my projects..

baggedbuick: Do you have the link to Wayne Messbarger's profile? I'll have to take a look at these pictures.

havent done one myself, but things i would do:

~build a frame table/jig
~read many suspension geometry books
~if the front suspension seems overwhelming, use a mustang II weld in front clip (hot rod mags)
~have a good game plan
~dont make it more complicated than it should be
~i see too many ppl get bogged down in larger projects b/c they make it overly complex for no reason.

good luck man. take a look at major shops websites. for example, www.ifcustom.com. they have a lot of pics. not exactly what you may be doing, but sometimes anything is better than nothing.

dragginbagged is wayne, but the pics I was thinkin of are on Russ-D's account, but you should check out both of em, remember to measure everything you can think of and make sure its square before and during welding. Later
