New Year, New Street Source Energy
It’s a new year, and while most people are hitting the gym or cutting carbs, I’ve been busy giving the Street Source events page a much-needed refresh. Progress hasn’t always been fast, but the momentum is starting to build.
And since we’re talking about new beginnings, it feels like Street Source is channeling its inner phoenix this year. Granted, it might look less like a majestic bird soaring through the sky and more like one awkwardly crawling out of the dirt—but hey, we’re moving!
Event Page Refresh: Out with the Old, In with the Usable
One of the biggest updates has been giving the events page a much-needed facelift. The goal? Make it easier to find shows, less frustrating to navigate, and more visually appealing.
The old layout felt clunky—like trying to read a roadmap from the '90s. Now, it’s cleaner, simpler, and actually looks like it belongs in this decade.
Automotive events have always been part of what makes the Street Source community special. Whether you’re chasing the next big show or just want to relive the vibe from past events, this page should help you get there faster.
The Data Cleanup Saga: More Events, More Problems
Here’s a fun fact: when I started cleaning up the event data, I thought it would be a quick weekend task. I mean, how many events could there possibly be?
Turns out, there were over 1,800 events lurking in the system—some dating back to when flip phones were considered cutting-edge.
The cleanup process is still ongoing, but the data is already more accurate. If you come across missing or outdated event info, let me know. This database is only going to get better with the help of the community.
The Big Vision: The Largest Custom Car Event Database
Speaking of events, there’s a bigger goal here: building the largest online database of custom car events. Imagine being able to find photos from that one show you went to a decade ago or discovering a new event happening just around the corner.
The vision is to make Street Source a one-stop hub for event listings, photos, and stories from shows across the country.

YouTube Update: Small Wins & Easter Eggs
On the YouTube side of things, progress has been...let’s call it slow. But hey, I did manage to finish one of the Easter eggs I’ve been working on. I like this pot because it kind of looks like a bag, it does doesn't it? Of course if your bag looks like this you got issues but still I like it.

It might not be a full-blown phoenix rising from the ashes yet, but we’ve got some feathers and a lot of determination.
