The Rides section has always been one of the core parts of Street Source—a place where builders, enthusiasts, and weekend warriors could show off their projects. Continuing on with the Responsive Design Project, it was time to give it the attention it deserved.

This latest update includes a complete redesign of the Rides section, starting with a brand new landing page that makes it easier to navigate, upload your ride, and explore what others are building. Along the way, I also did some minor data cleanup to help improve consistency across makes and models.

And… I have to admit something. There was a long-standing bug that prevented users from creating ride pages for any vehicle newer than model year 2017. No excuses—it slipped by me. That’s fixed now, and you can finally add your newer builds to the site again.

What's New in the Rides Section

  • Overhauled design: Clean layout, clearer calls to action, and easier browsing.

  • Improved ride creation experience: You can now add vehicles from any year—including the ones built after 2017 (finally!).

  • Minor data cleanup: I’ve corrected some inconsistencies, with bigger improvements on the way.

  • Coming soon: I’ll be incorporating official data from the NHTSA so we’ll have a full, standardized list of makes and models—no more guessing or duplicate entries.

How the Community Can Use It

Whether you're actively wrenching in the garage or just keeping the memory of an old project alive, the updated Rides section gives you new ways to engage:

  • Show off your latest build: Now that the model year bug is fixed, go ahead and post up that 2020+ project you've been holding back.

  • Update your old ride pages: Clean up descriptions, add new photos, or mark rides as "past projects" to preserve your history.

  • Browse and get inspired: Use the improved layout and search to discover what other enthusiasts have built.

  • Contribute to data accuracy: If you spot a missing or incorrect make/model, let me know! Your feedback helps shape the future vehicle database.

This space is built around the idea that every ride has a story—whether it’s halfway through a swap, just rolled out of paint, or long gone but not forgotten.

Call to Action

Complete - Rides Section Redesign – Complete overhaul with new layout, fixed bugs, and a better user experience.

Minor Wiki Updates – Small improvements to layout and usability are up next.

Threads/Forum Redesign – The big one. This is going to take some time—expect at least a month of work here.
