at this moment its still a C10 2 wheel drive pickup not even completely in one piece , its sufferin from the usual rust in the rockerpannels and cabcorners .
im stripping the interiour little by little to get it empty before i start with cutting and welding .
the bed and the rest of the sheetmetal in the front apears to be replaced before by the previous owner since there's only verry little rust visible .
i have some pics of how i bought it but i'm ashamed to put it on as it looks like a bozo the clown mobile on it .
"improvements" involve homemade rollbar with lights big white letter tires on stock steel wheels a realy bad paintjob and runningboards .
lets just say that the former owner had bad taste in acesories .
im at the moment collecting tools and parts for the build , i have bough a second C10 long wheelbase chassis that i will repaint and i'm planning to rebuild the truck of that chassis stripping the old truck as i go to make sure i remember how to put it back together and be able to take measurements , i found the C30 front and rearsuspension i needed today and will collect it next week .
i found alcoa 22,5 inch rims in belgium (4 hour drive from my place ) these will be bought shortly
i have the new sheetmetal for the rockers and im waiting on the airtools and welder to arive (this week?) so i can start to work for real
at the end of the month im ordering a complete set of stainless bolts for mounting all the sheetmetal , and im still looking for a fiber bushingkit for the C30 frontsuspension and the cab itself .
i like to get some airride stuff on the chassis before mounting the sheetmetal on top of it , im not planning to lay rocker but have the axle rest on the stock chassis when empty , i haven't looked intoo it seriously yet but seen some prices and nudging towarth building a simple up down front back system myself using firestone bags .
i put my feelers out for a price on a 383 engine with a vortec or simulair blower , it needs to be able to run strong on propane (gasprice in the netherlands is 6 dollar per gallon propane is 2 dollar )
im allso on the lookout for an clean american title and vinnumberplate with rivets still atached for a 1981 chevrolet dually with a single cab and a long bed running a V8 .
i'm putting just internet and telephone time in now chasing and paying for the parts i need and only ocasionally be in the workspace to strip the interiour a bit further
im hoping to dig intoo it this summer and have it running and aproved for roaduse about the same time next year
i need it to get my truck aproved , the stronger 383 engine will be put in later since the 350 dudwrench i have now is running good enough
