305 is kinda the same as a 350 but why do you think its so cheap. cuz they blow. if your gonna do a V8 swap you might as well do it with a decent motor. i head ford 302's fit yota's alright, and i know you can pick them up for like 600 with tranny and wiring harness out of old fox body mustangs all day

"I have an 86 camaro berlinetta with 185,000 miles on my 305 and it has never been rebuilt and i still drive it. I put it through a lot of abuse too!!! If he wants to sport a 305 that's his choice. Don't knock him for it. your probably a ford fan anyway since you cracked the chevy 305 and mentioned the 302

Well its just like the same as a 350 so whats the prob? And its cheap and well I'm using it!!

definitely not the same as a 350. same size, yes, but not the same. They are decent motors so if you already have it, go for it. Otherwise I would look into a 350 or 400. Either way, chevy parts are cheap so you are good in that department.

I cant remember the name of the company....I think its Northwest Toyota Offroad. Im not sure. I bought some motor mounts from them a few years ago for an 84 toy(same as 88 ) and they were awesome. Laser cut grade 8 mounts with urathane bushings. Simple drop in. They also have headers made for v8 chevys and fords for toyota conversions. If you can find that company, its well worth it. Good luck bro on your mini.

lol didnt mean to make anyone mad, i see it as the old 305 are just like new blocks that are made in mexico. Junk i've rebulilt 2 of them in the past and neither one of them lasted 2 months and so i finally learned my lession and buit a good motor.. Actually really good for the money i spent on it...
But hey good luck tho. you adventually will want to go faster heh

well the guys that say a 305 arent as good as a 350 are right..a 305 has a bad habbit of getting flat lopes on the cam..commen knowleng realy..but unless you plan on turning over 7000 r.p.m you dont realy need a 4 bolt main either...i am getting ready to put a 2 bolt..350.i got out of a 87 camero.in to my sonoma...and the idea of its 100 dollars and running..yeah personaly i whould rebuild it... go to summit and a rebuild kit is likw 200 bucks..but dont just slap it in there..as you kinda did with you front brackets dude...take the time to make it right...a part needs to function as well as look good...i whouldnt show anybody some bird shit weld all over my ride but thats me...roll how you wanna...

fuck it, do a 305, then if you can get your hands on a 350, swap it out, if im right, not sure, but i think its pretty much the same exterior wise, like mounting holes the the motor mounts n crap, but im not sure. if it is, just use the 305, then swap it out later if you need too, bag job looks pretty good, come along way, LOL
