some traps have o rings to seal them tight. make sure it is seated properly. Iv never used that one, im just trying to give you some ideas. Maybe the trap is bad? If its rated for 150. It can handle 175. There is always a safety factor with these things. It just dosnt start to leak at 152.

Hope this is some help.

The further away from the compressor the better the trap works. I have a edc on my dually and the trap is in the back on the tank. Mine doesn't get much water just oil.

dont forget to check those smc traps, they were labeled backwards, if you look in the "IN" port, and you see a rod that holds the filter, its backwards, and you need to flip it and hook the compressor to the "OUT" side. evidently they put out alot of them like this, i got my edc kit yesterday with one in it.

put a check valve after it....I bought a 15 dollar 1/2 inch trap from the local wholesaler, got a custom made aluminum bowl for it so it will be good to like 250, and run a 1/2 check valve after it....

Not to mention, if you do it this way, the leak will relive head pressure on the EDC and make startup easier for it.....
