i got a ticket when i took mine off because i was prepping my truck for paint and still driving it

just a fix-it ticket though, keep a pic of your truck with mirrors on it, and just take it with you and show the judge and they'll usually drop it if you tell them you just got mirrors put back on it, they'll believe you if you have a pic

I've gotten three and thats with it being shaved since '97. Most of the time when I get pulled over they don't catch it. First time and third time I got it signed off with suction cup "child safety" mirrors. They were like 1"x3". The second ticket I just double side taped some mirrors on the truck.

I was told by the first officer that signed off on the suction cup mirrors. The law states that you simply need to see behind you not the size of the mirror. And telling them, "Well you are supposed to look in your mirror then over the shoulder. I am just taking out a step", has a 50-50 shot of going over well.

Well last year when i lived in Virginia, I got pulled over bout 5 times within a couple months... they didnt like my 240 there much

Everytime i got pulled over by the state police too ...and everyone of them brought up my shaved mirrors and using billet harley mirrors instead.... all them tried to tell me it was illegal because they werent the factory mirrors. Hell 2 even tried to tell me the billet rear view mirror was illegal cause it wasnt the factory one and smaller.

Out of all 5 only one gave me a ticket... knew the laws good enough to be able to get out of the rest.... and he was a dick... i was pumpin gas and he pulled in and was gonna give me a ticket for airride, shaved tailights,no reverse lights, shaved doors, and a few other things.......finally after he couldnt figure out what the codes for were on all this shit he just wrote 1... for only having like faulty tail lights

And after that he told me i should be a real man and drive a mustang lol....first time ive ever actually got into a yelling match with a cop over a ticket and made a scene also...it was pretty funny...

but thats basically when i started tryin to find a place to move to in Tenn. so i wouldnt have to deal with those inbred communist in virginia anymore

Yea, I looked into Texas laws a few weeks ago and I think it said that you need to see in back of you for 200 feet. It doesn't really say much about the actual mirrors. I'm sure they could get me for modifying with OEM crap.

from what i know you can have your mirrors shaved if you have no tint on your truck. and still retain the rearview mirror
