Importance of Jack Stands

my uncle told me a story of one of his buddies being under a truck without stands.they left at night,came back in the mornin,the truck was on top of him.poor dude was dead cuz there was no jack stands under the truck or anyone to help him.but yea moral of these stories USE JACK STANDS!!!!

I helped a friend out at a truck show once, his comp. went out and he needed a new one. seein since he didnt know how to put one on i clrawled under to change it.i went to unhook the line to it and the whole truck started to leak down. One of my friends said well hold it up so i was on my own to crawl out of a full size body drop. I told him he was crazy and as the truck layed out i told him now lift it all of ya. So a few hours later at night we finaly got it up ,with jacks , so i could changed it safly. Alot of people dont understand how things change when ur baged and realy just dont think at all about it too its to late so its beter to be over prepared than a truck layin on ya and jacks leak down to so they alone are not safe. Sry to hear about ur friend i hope i gets beter.

im glad to hear your friend is ok. years ago my buddy lifted his truck up and crawled under it to work on a quick fix when a line broke causing the truck to land on him. unfortunately he didnt make it and there is nothing worse then losing a loved one, a fellow minitrucker, not to mention a kid so young because he was 17 at the time. i just wish noone would ever have to go through a time like that, cause no matter how many years have passed, the sh!t feels like it happened yesterday.

about once a month there is a story like this. how many have to get hurt before people get it through their F*CKIN heads? use the damn $20 jackstands. this shit is ridiculous. use your heads. your body wont survive to a 3000+lb vehicle... sometimes it seems alright to crawl underit for a quick fix, then bam, off to the hospital.. be safe guys and girls

wow I've almost gotten scared to crawl under mine every time I do I get so worried about some kind of freak accident I usually wont get under it unless someone else is there, even with jack stands

dude thats no fucking joke, thats why i was kicked out of the navy, i had a 1996 chevy blazer fall on my head, i had it jacked up with the factory pos jack and it slipped out, i had skull fractures, bleeding on the brain, broke nose, crushed sinus cavity, hearing loss, ringing in my ears, had to have a blood transfusion because i lost almost 3 pints of blood out of my ears, nose, and mouth, and still cant move the left side of my face because of nerve damage. i still work under my truck and always will, i just wont be a dumb ass again and get under it with out jack stands.hope your buddy gets better, the thing that sucked the most is i had to get life flighted to and i dont even remeber the ride in the helicopter.
