the Courier/Mazda rearend is 4 inches narrower than the 86-93 ones.

does Moser do import axles?

They custom build each axle in order...And in a 10 day period..Not 10 months like other places.

dutchman motorsports is another place to either get your axles narrowed or new axles made

do they shorten import axles?

I imagine they can do anything.
Nomotiv, you just need to measre how wide your bedside lips are, -2'' (clearance for tires) then subtract out how far it is from the outsde of your rim to the face of the hub. That will get you your overall width (hub to hub) Depending on wich rearend you use you will then subtract out 5'' (2 1/2 each side on ford 9'') for your overall housing width.

Just ordered mine today. 2 new axles for a ford 9'' rearend with an s10 bolt pattern, 1/2'' screw in studs (2'' long) 28 spline, bearings, races, ect ended up being $427 shipped and will take 1 week.
If you call ask for woody, just tell him your overall housing width, and the lengths from the center of the pinion to each end (1/2 of the overall width on a centered pinion). He will then tell you the lengths of each axle so its easy to double check.

I already have my wheels with the backspacing
I wanted. I ordered Billet Specialties SLG06 wheels in 6 lug (so they have 6 spokes)

20" for the rear and 17" for the front. so my thought was to lay the wheels under the rear and set them away from the sides like I want then measure the distance between.

I have about 4- Ford 9" rearends, one truck and the rest car axles.

Im doing the housing myself. I am probably gonna get the ends from Speedway or whoever has them and cut the tubes rather than cut the welds and pull the tubes out.

Im gonna run discs on the rear again so Ill also need to take into account the thickness of the rotors.

I have gotten a price of 225 to shorten the axles and redrill them to 6 lug. that was from Payton Performance here in Texas.

Ill just have to use truck axles so I know the flange has a large enough diameter.

I will also call moser to see what they get for that same setup.
