Ac Compressor to Air Compressor??

Can it be done? I have a 1993 Mazda B2600i and was wondering if it can, if it has been done. Also if it has is there anything special to be done?

I took the rear cap of the compressor and had it tapped at the machine shop.1/4" pipe thread on the discharge, 3/8" pipe thread on the suck side.I ordered an Viair leader hose and an ASCO water seperator from Ricky at whynotfab.com and hooked them up to the discharge side.The fittings I got from the local Parker store and used it to hook the in-line oiler i got from sears and the filter from autozone.I also ordered an ASCO pressure switch from Ricky. You hook it up like any othe 12v compressor.I'm going to have to get a 90 degree fitting for the leader hose, there's not enough room for it straight outhope this helps, I don't have it in the truck yet, but i hope I should this week.Email me with any questons you might have.oh yeah it's a sanden 708

Is That the same compressor on my 93 2600i? Also how much oil do you think it will take and how often to be filled???

go look at the side of the compressor it has a number on it. As far as oil, I don't know, I check my motor oil every two days so I'll just check the compressor's oil also.

I jave a 92 2600i I need the same thing, i cant air my shit up fast enough, the ac unit would be nice.
Anyone have more pics of there ac converted to compressors.

All I did on mine was get fittings pressed on. I dont run an inline oiler, I just spray some oil in there everyonce and a while. 200+ psi daily on 14 gallons. Works great.

why not run an inline oiler? it's $10 from sears. The filter was $10 and the fittings were $5. The reason i didn't get my fittings pressed on was i didn't want to hack up any of my stock A/C parts. It would take me around 30 minutes to go back to having A/C. Here is another forum on it.

I would think it would be worth it for around only 10 bucks... Im gonna try to atempt it, hope all goes well... Only think im trying to figure out is if i should use my stock 2600i compressor or buy a york 210....

does the oiler (suction side) have to have any certain size ports????

i don't see why it would. the one i have is 1/4"
