Hey KAOSS I looked at mine tonight.. Its a sanden sd-708.... It looks different that yours, the inlet and outlet are on the top of the back plate not out the back like yours... Did you Change yours? Anyways it should still work i hope...

KAOSS would you be able to use a non quagulant grease such as a lythium insted of oil and not have to put oil in it everyday or possible use a 10 w type oule becouse of the thickness

jason- i did nothing to mine but take it off the truck, unbolt the cap of the back, and take it to the machine shop.I bought air compressor oil from sears,I have no idea if there's better stuff to use.
burnsey- I know nothing about lubrication.
I couldn't really find a good answer on how convert this thing when i started-i just took it out of the truck and went from there. So get off of SSM and work on your trucks!!!

If your not using it for nothing its worth a try. Maybe run it not hooked up and run a therm. in the hose and see what it is coming out as.

I dunno if the 708 is the same as the 508, but my 508 holds its own oil just like a york, so you dont need an oiler and stuff. The only catch is it has to be an "r12" model. If yours has the hi and lo refill ports on the compressor, its an "r12" model, if there is no place where you would recharge your a\c then its "134a." Or at least thats how the sd-508's are...
