the reason there are fewer rams bagged and whatnot versus the chevys and fords is the aftermarket.

there are numberous companies that make bolt on bag kits for chevys and ford fullsize trucks but nothing for the dodge.

plus you need to do alot more work to get a ram to lay out then you would for lets say a chevy. shit even price alone is a big factor. drop spindles for a ram from belltech are 450-550 depending on who you get em from, ck1500 spindles can be bought for under 200.

you will also in most cases need a shorter axle (either a ford 9" from a f150 or a shortened stocker) to lay on 22s or bigger and 22s on rams look like 20s on anything else because of the wheel well size.

the dodges also have engine issues with pinging, tps, egr, blown intake plenum gaskets, bad cats, bad 02 sensors, and they also have some issues with their dashes cracking. these are the most common probs ive seen sofar. i cant really speak for chevy or ford because i havent owned one but if i had to do it over and i could get a chevy setup the same as my ram with the same power for the same price i would have hopped on it and my walet would be thanking me now.

It also makes them more original. With a Chevy it's more like, which conversation kit did they use, which bolt on parts did they use etc. You can build a Chevy out of box with all the options.

I'm not into bolting on all the "custom" parts but if your looking to do something simple you won't find that for Dodge.

Have you seen the new 1 piece 94-01 Dodge Ram projector headlights on ebay? I don't like the projector but I hope they make a set of sport with clear turn signals in the 1 piece.

I think these look to tacky.

Since my dad just bought a 99 Ram, so he'd save miles on his other cars, I was going to buy it off him this fall, but since I'll be going back to school in Sept I dont want to be pouring $ into a vehicle during the winter months and want to modify it as much as I can during this summer. And since the general concensus is that Dodge=$$$$$ and fewer aftermarket parts I think I might go for a fullsize chevy or ford and put a newer front clip on it as suggested by Derek (SlammedAcroRam). I think I would be happy with it just lowered + rims and some body work this summer and then bag + body drop it next summer or once school ends.

to 4/6 a ram costs about as much as it does to bag a chevy lol. thats sad.
