I am in Dually Heaven!!!!! Finally I find a place where there is more of my kind of truck

I have an 85 1 ton crew cab dually, It's been lowered, has Alcoa's and I recently removed my stroker BBC 496 and installing a 96 Cummins with NV4500 tranny. I wont go into my entire build but I tore it down to the frame in 2007 and after a year pulling with the BBC I decided to put a Cummins in. I am very close to completing the install and I am chomping at the bit to drive it.

Welcome. What all was done to the 496 and why the swap?

The 496 was origanally slated for my stepside but I had an issue with the origanal BBC that I removed so I put it in the dually instead of the stepside, the 496 has a Scat 4.250 Crank, 6.385 H beam rods, SPR flat tops, and a set of 781 heads. Very good combo for the street mega torque for pulling but 6.5 MPG. So since I tow alot that would not work for very long so I did some research and started gathering parts for the Cummins swap. Even with the increased cost of fuel I should triple my milage and save some money.

6.5 mpg huh? Did the 496 have overdrive? Sorry for all the questions but I want more cubes, cam, and compression later.
