New Guy From Kansas, 85 crew cab

I had a manual granny low 4 speed, I think with the 496 and either a 4LE80 automatic or a manual NV4500 the milage qould have been better. I did have massive torque though. Also I had a 750 Vac Sec carb so fuel injection would of helped as well.

Build looks great. Where did you get the A/C and alt. brackets for your Cummins?

I bought my motor mounts, Alt and AC brackets, valve cover,Oil filler delete, and belts from Auto World in Montana They were great to deal with and very helpfull on the conversion I highly reccomend them. I liked the Idea of using GM Alt ans AC so I didnt have to us the dodge computer and was able to modify the chevy factory wiring easily.

I love the build . I am also getting ready to start a cummins swap, thanks for posting Auto world web site gona use them for sure.what are your plans for the power steering and hydroboost, its one of the conserns I have for my build at this point

Actually the Hydroboost was an easy hurdle I kept the Dodge pump, I took the Chevy line from the hydro boost then took the pump end from the dodge doner truck and had the hydro shop put them together, My plan for the return line is to come from the Hydroboost to the gearbox the T it back to the pump it's low pressure so I think it will be fine, I coverted the return over to AN fittings for eas of installation.

I was struggeling on the Hydralic master cylinder for weeks and on another forum I found a ford F350 Master cylinder will work with a push rod modification.

I am going to start a build thread this week and go through my build, I have learned a lot from other people and done a few things on my own to get this thing comming together

The 496 will go back into my 77 Chevy C10 Stepside, It's got a chris Alston 4 link in it.

I believe tha Alternator will be great I will run Dual battarys in it when I get assembled. I do plan on hooking up the intake heater but I figured I put that on a toggle switch.
