My buddy and I didnt know shit when we started bodydropping my truck and building a new frame cept for what Id read in Minitruckin tech articles, learned as we went by asking questions and just figuring it out, thats how you learn. when we started we were in WAY over our heads but we came out fine and learned a lot.
I'm going to go out on a limb on this one since there seems to be a question about him editing and I'm only reading what was posted now...It looks to me like no one
micheal, sorry about the cheap shot both the car and your truck are really nice, but I still dont agree with tucky even after he reworded it, it still comes off wrong, and arrogant to me.
IF there wasnt newbies who would look uo to us?...i feel great when a dude who has a bucket hes working on asks me for my opinion because ive been around. Its good to have learners around.
ok guys at what point did I ever say I didnt like new guys and they shouldnt try? That isnt what I said. I said start small then move your way up. Most of you want to jump on the band wagon of bashing what I said. But from your post you dont even know what I said. I admited that I worded it badly the first time and I changed the wording so im not talking to who posted before I changed the wording. Just the ones after I changed it you coulnd have read what I said because you all act like I said that I didnt like new guys and they souldnt try or ask questions and I didnt say any of that so you need to try to reread it.
i've reread it twice and you still come off as a arogant jackass, I think maybe you need to reread it. and by the way there are no "dumb questions" just stupid answers.
I am a newbie to the LR scene. One thing i have learned from this culture/scene is to ask questions. people want to answer them. I agree with not going out and buying a welder and an escalade on the same day, but people learn by doing. that;s human nature. I've only been around for a few months and i have almost completed my first bodydrop with a bunch of help from people who learned from others. when you get a truck done and go to a show and you have something different...you WANT to be asked how you did it. it's called recognition. i'll keep working on my ram until i can afford a brand new mailbox that i can chop up....

all hes trying to say is that some people read about body drops in a mag and decide they need one with out researching it first. If you ask a question like what welder do i need for a body drop its obvious you havent searched hard enough first to even know where to start and you should do that prior to worrying about welders and whatnot. im all about people doing research first all over the internet becasue most of the shit we are doing now has been done for well over 60 years so the info is there. I would just hate for someone to decide they can bag their truck with no experience or planning and research and have them blow a bag and smash into me on the highway because their frame broke. Its all about the research.
