4g's isnt bad, but u also started with a un-modified brand new car, much easier for prep work, and u only got half of it sprayed with actuall candy, so ya its gonna be reamarkably cheaper. Did they take ur pink into ur door jambs?

the painter I am useing has been useing hot hues in the concentrates and if I rember its in qt form and he reduces it in clear and it makes 2 or 3 gals for 50.00 + the clear

HOK candy base isn't that pricey if its what you what its under $50 a quart.

on the real i have seen many candy paint jobs but in the long run if ya want kandy u got to get the HOK top to bottomfrom base to innercoat clear and candy coat u can tellthe diff between hok and others

for one, im not sayin HOK is bad, im just sayin theres just as good for cheapre, and easier use! and two if a candy is sprayed by someone who knows what theyre doin then u cant tell what brand it is. the only way to tell that is to have memorized the damn HOK catalogs and paint chips. Anyways, im not tryin to get people bashin on comments here, im just tryin to say u hav more options than just HOK!

You can't spray a candy or candy like paint cheaper in RM than you can in HOK.

true, not if u have to buy it at retail costs

It doesn't matter retail or body shop cost if one is more at retail it will be more at shop cost. I just sprayed a color in Glasruit which is top of the line RM and it was just a base green it cost me a $1000 at body shop cost.

i was talking to my friend whose a painter and he told me dupont makes a product, i cant think of the name right now, when added to normal kandy paint makes it lay just like spraying a normal base coat. he said it makes spraying the kandy easy as hell and it comes out perfest and lays really nice. ill get with him soon so i can get that name for you. also he said alot of shops that charge you that huge price for kandy use it but dont tell any one so they can pick up the extra profit,and he was told that by the dupont dealer and one ofhis teachers at an airbrush action getaway.
