check out glassmanscustomforum.com very good website with tons of build up pics. but what your going to want to do is build a wood frame for everything and wrap that in fleece, use a paint brush to brush on fibergla$$ resin onto the fleece, let that dry, then sand down a little bit then lay down some fibergla$$ matt over that and then your body filler and sand until smooth. thats the general idea. sorry i dont have time to explain it all out in detail, just go to that website and read up. good luck!!

ughhh why does everyone say to use fleece...DO NOT USE FLEECE...use SPANDEX!...youll know why after you try them both out

acctually each material has its own uses. If you have a bunch of small complex shapes (like a bunch of guage pods in a row) use spandex. If you are just doing a sub box with big swoopy curves... use fleece. The fleece acctually builds more thickness because it wont stretch as thin, but it wont bring out shapes as well. If you need to suck something in. Or you want a body line... just staple it. Super 33 adhesive, a razor knife and a staple gun should be 3 of your best friends when doing things like this.

oh, one more thing. Glassman customs is an AMAZING resource.

I like to use fleece when I build things like a dash or a box. I use it with the fluffy side down and soak it real good let it dry then cut out holes or flip over the soak the inside real good most of the time because of the furry fleece on the inside it acts like a mat cloth and I dont ever have to mat it because it is no a 1/4 think solid resin and cloth. And just build what U see U can see pics in my profile

If you want to produce a quaility product that wont break when it gets slammed going around a corner or whatever use mat. For your own stuff its ok to just use fleece and bondo because you know you have to be careful with it. But if you build something for someone and it breaks in a week... its not good for you especially a dash. One more thing, the strength is the combination of mat and resin. Thats why its called a composite. DO NOT use a ton of resin and expect it to make it stronger... the strength is in the matrix's of the fiberglass hardened by the resin.

i forget the name of the place that sells rolls of mat and gallons of resin. Anybody remember the website addy? But for a complex shape like a dash it would be alot better and easier to use ripped up peices of matt. So go on ebay and buy the 5 or so pounds of fiberglass mat scraps for 20 bucks.
