Alma Gates Retireing

I dont know if alot of you know who she is.. she has been Dubbed "the Grandmother of Car audio" She is a Dear Friend of mine tho I have never met her me and her have talked alot over the years. The Audio Scene wont be the same without her. She was most famous for her Bronco Deemed the Beast which really set the bar for SPL competitions. news made a big deal cuz she was a grandma

lady is bad ass to say the least. your right, the scene wont be nearly the same. when you have not one but TWO jbl crowns, not 1 2, 3,4, but 13 or so alternators......and a shit load of subs....eeeeeeeeyaaaaaaaaaaaa your big time.




not to mention that truck burned down and she rebuilt it, 30+ thousand in audio setup alone.

Ya she is one cool lady. I meet her back in like 96-97 in northern arizona at a ford dealership in the town i lived in.

I also know of her! She is the greatest ever! I used to compete back in 1999-2001 and seen her alot of times. I have a couple of pics of us standing beside each other. I have a signed cd with the bronco on the cover. only now will the doors be open for new spl hunters.

she was cool as hell, i was at a show with her once and she was talkin about how she impaled a catipiller in her sub chamber, thats crazy

my buddy has a pic of her with his daughter she is gettin his daughter to sign a pic for her because his daughter set a spl record back in 2000 or so

I remember her all the way back to the PPI days.
