it's too much... well, one gallon of good shit vs. how much time and how many gallons to try and make whatever your doing look good? I understand being on a budget, but I think you've definitely got what you paid for already, so my vote is to save up for good materials before trying again.

I've heard of clear sealer too though, and that might be a good base coat for you to ensure that the clear isn't reacting somehow with the carbon fiber, i've never painted that shit so I'm just guessing...

i am a dupont and standox painter, sand it down with 1000 grit to open them solvent bubbles, and re clear it

If the carbon fiber isnt cured it can cause similar problems

I spray Sikkens but they make a budget line called Lesanol. Its not top of the line stuff but its a real good budget paint/clear.

it is most likely solvent pop. When i look close i can see little bubbles.all over. I have seen pins hole before and this is not one of them. I guess the reason is that i was laying too think of a layer on before flash time. THis is the first time i am using omni as i have read there are good words bout it so decide to get a gallon of this stuff.

I have seen carbon fiber do this and it looks like solvent pop. But the three times i have painted carbon fiber and it has happened it seems like the wax and grease remover come back out or some thing. I do remember that you cant see them in base and then they show up in clear. As for what clear i use PPG DC4000 its not to bad for price. And everyone does know that OMNI is PPG's cheap line right, I have used some of their base coat but not their clear.

for one..omni is for sure not the BEST ...but its not garbage either...if it is working THAT bad for you guys you need some more practice painting...as for the solvent popping...use a slower reducer in your clear, dont lay it on as heavy or so fast, turn your air pressure up,and/or if you are baking it..dont bake it too hot or too soon
