just to back up what BLITCH said....I have seen after market "no-name" parts be just as good if not better than the glorified "big-name" brands. Some of them are even made in the same sweet shop in china with the same quality standard as the name brand. The difference is that at the end of the day they get labeled different for different companies.

If you use a bypass valve you will be perfectly fine. I myself have a cold air intake but its the Comptech one which has a box like the stock one but has a tube which sucks air from under the car. It gives more HP and tourqe than the AEM. Although a short ram is cheaper a cold air will give you more HP.

my CAI aided in spinning a bearing because water got in and increases the compression, anyway my AEM CAI is now a short ram thanks to the sawzall i would play it safe and run the bypass valve its not worth the risk

ive noticed a small diference in acceleration when i did my short ram on my first accord, or maybe it just sounded faster lol. I wouldnt do cold air if you live somewhere where it rains alot, heard of a lot of 4 bangers get there engines locked because there cold air sucks in water

Just to restate short ram DOES NOT = cold air!!!!.....short ram pulls hot off of the motor...what moron thought that would be good for power was gettin up the arse!! If you do a true cold air only its only going to gain you about 5HP on a stock motor...the computer can only do so much for the better flowing air...
