yes you can cut and grind tempered glass. there is a few shop in phx that can do it. its been awhile since ive been in phx, youll have to give "the interior shop" a call and they can direct you to the right person...

You got a couple options since you CAN NOT CUT tempered glass. If you dont have much curve to your windows you might beable to get away with a custom cut piece of flat glass which is pretty damn cheap and can be done by any glass guy worth his nuts.

Or you can make a paper template of your NEW windows, and go to the local yard and walk around all day looking for windows out of a different car that will fit your new windows, i know its sound like a waist of time but thats how i got the windows for the front doors after my 4" chop, factory tempered windows for 20bucks each took me all day 1 day to find the right car to grab them from though.

anyways good luck

you're gonna want some tempered windows afte the first wreck you are in with plate glass windows and you die from having a shard of glass sever your jugular vein......

Sorry for not fully specifing LAMINATED PLATE GLASS just like your windshield, thats not going to shard when you get in an acident, now the down side to it is that its not nearly as strong to impact as tempered glass just like your windsheild, alot of the old school chops that i have looked at used laminate side glass and was recommended to my by my glass guy.

All else fails you can always get Lexan windows molded to the shape and curve of your origonal windows but trimed down to fit the new opening.

hey buddy if you goto a shop and tell them you want a piece of plate glass 10x14" or whatever, they'll assume you are replacing a window in your house or something....

ive heard of ppl making a template of your new window opening (with the curve) and going to a junk yard and putting it on windshields until you find one that has the correct curve in it. you can then get 2 new windshields and have your side glass cut out of that.
