My old man had similar problems with his '95 over the weekend...had to jump-start it yesterday...noticed the negative side cable clamp was cracked(2nd time for that)and went to Advance to get a new one, had to modify it a lil' bit, but got it on and let the truck sit overnight...got it to start this morning, but it was VERY sluggish on 3 attempts at different times...also noticed that the windshield wipers didn't have much juice even with the truck running...figuring it's the alternator, and having it replaced/rebuilt...I'll post the outcome..........

Diagnosis for this problem: "Burnt regulator" in the alternator...truck seems to be starting fine now...........

did you have it rebuilt? i might look in to rebuilding, since a new one is 140+ dollars.

y not try running a new wire from the alternator strait to the battery? factory wiring of alternators is gay, specailly ona ford.
