I am going to be doing a 305 swap come spring and have 3 questions I need answered.

Question the first:with the 86 yota rear end, can I utilize a sway bar

The second:with the yota rear, is there a disc brake upgrade out there

and the third:with my escalade wheels how wide a tire can I go, would a 235 tire fit without rubbing using the yota rear end.

My truck will have a 5" drop in the back and 4"ish in the front. C-notching the frame of course.

If im missing something out that u guys need to know tell me, thanks

Sway bars are useless with leaf springs, escalade wheels wont fit on a toyota axle without adapters which will cause them to stick out past your bedsides, and disc brakes are a waste of money on the rear of a truck unless you want them just for looks.

how far out will they stick out? I know i've been told that I can use my stock rear end and have no problems, but is there a way to strengthen it? Because I'm thinking of putting a built 305 in or I might leave it, havent decided yet. Like can I buy a locker for the rear?

To change lug patterns the adapter will have to be about an inch and a half thick, so about an inch. Your stock rear end will hold up unless you plan on buildin a 350 plus hp 305 which will be a task. If you really want disc rears and want to keep your wheels, and want a strong rear diff, buy a silverado rear end and shorten it.(99 and up).

the toy diff is plenty strong for the 305 to eliminate the need for adaptors for escalades use a toy 4x4 diff which is 6 bolt but im not sure if its wider then a 2 wheel drive 1

why do so many cars and trucks come factory equipped with sway bars and leafsprings?

like everyone says, the 4x4 trucks have 6x5.5, but watch out for high gear ratios if you plan on doing any fast speeds (like 60+ mph), and again, factory equipped trucks with disc brakes.. are you saying you are smarter than people who engineer trucks for a living? if you run the 4wd yota rear end, they have a disc brake kit for that axle.
