fosgate amps are the only ones built from top to bottom, inside and out, in america, i worked for a dealer in virginia beach and won a trip to tempe az. and saw the fosgate factory and got to build my own amp, other manufactuers claim to built in USA, but there is something built off shore somewhere, ive been a rockford fan forever, the power sereies line is the shit,

I agree the old shit was bad ass and you couldn't kill it but the new stuff isn't to shabby either I've been poundin mine for the last three cars my wifes had and my truck for the last few years and I haven't had any problems out of them.

OK now, I know Best Buy has been showin up in this forum alot but I also install for them and I have a different opinion about ROCKFORD FOSBREAK. I know we dont carry there upper end amps but it seems that they never perform to their specs. I know about CEA rating and what not but I am particularly fed up with their two channel amps we carry. It is impossible to bridge them at two ohms, The resistance is just to low and they shut off and go into protect. This is a big annoyance when they say theis product will perform at this resistance.

I think fosgate for bestbuy is made over seas anyway

Kyle, I am lookin at the spec sheet for a p5002 I just got done installing in our bay. (which I hooked up two singe 4 ohm subs not bridged)This spec sheet says the rated power at 14.4VDC= 250.0 Watts RMS *2 at 2OHMS. I guaruntee you that if you bridge any of the silver faced rockford amps(which we are discontinuing to sell) it will go into protection. I know rockford may have had some bulletproof amps back when i was in diapers but they have just sold out to the big box stores and just dont make amps like they used to. Granted that their t series(the grey amps) seem to be capable of playing at a half an ohm very efficiantly, you cannot truthfully say that these amps are worth even wiping your butt with the spec sheet they come with.

oh and by the way it wouldn't suprise me if they were made overseas either. Go JL or go home..........................

Just about any 2 channel amp u hook up at 2ohms bridge will shut off because their only stable at 4ohms bridge or 2ohms per channel!!!!!!!

again, thats what made the old fosgate so bad ass. Just about every older fosgate and anything made by zed or US made before 1996 (lanzar, rodek, crunch, orion etc)would handle 2 ohm mono easy, some competition models even handled 1/2 ohm mono.

Old rockford > just about anything made in the last 10 years. I feel sorry for you guys who got into stereo since then, you have NO I D E A what you missed.

It doesn't matter if the amp was made 10 years ago or not if u want to hook ur subs up at 2ohms than use dual 4ohm subs and wire them at 2ohms per channel
